Making Biodiesel with
Ethanol
In this day and age of constantly
inflating prices of living and ever rising gas prices, it can
be difficult to find a way to cut some corners. There are ways
to save money in other areas but if you have a car, you need
gasoline to run it point-blank-period. There is no way of
getting around this need, unless you purchase an alternatively
fueled car or make expensive modifications to your own to allow
you to do so. If you have a vehicle that runs on diesel fuel,
there may be a way of saving some money, and that is through
the use of biodiesel fuel.
What is Biodiesel?
Biodiesel is a petroleum-free type of fuel that burns much
cleaner than traditional diesel fuel, and it can be made
utilizing renewable resources, eliminating the need for wasting
valuable fossil fuel resources. It doesn't have any petroleum
in it, yet it can be mixed with traditional diesel to make a
blend without having to make any costly modifications. Best of
all, biodiesel is fully biodegradable, which means that it can
safely be absorbed into and become part of the earth. It is
completely nontoxic as well; something else that sets it apart
from traditional diesel fuel and that is great for people who
have pets or kids where safety is a concern.
Making Biodiesel with Ethanol
It is not the most difficult thing to make biodiesel with
ethanol, but it helps to have some knowledge of the two in
order to do so properly. This is a great way to recycle ethanol
and use it for a good purpose, and it is a clever way of making
an environmentally friendly type of fuel at the same time. It
is important to know that making biodiesel with ethanol is not
the type of thing that a novice should get into. Many resources
on the internet and on television can make it appear that
making biodiesel with ethanol is an easy, simple thing to do.
While it is not hard and certainly not one of the least safe
things out there, it is definitely a step ahead of any other
fuel type and for good reason.
It's All About Chemical Processes
Biodiesel is all about chemical processes, and separating
one substance from another to create a third. Sure, it sounds
like a complex enough subject and as an entity it really is; on
the other hand, it is important to realize that biodiesel as a
fuel has an important role in our lifestyle. It decreases the
United States' dependence on foreign oil and it is completely
safe. As a matter of fact, salt has more of a toxic effect on
your body than biodiesel ever would; imagine drinking a cup of
regular diesel fuel and what that would do to you (definitely
NOT a safe thing to do). In essence, biodiesel is a good thing
for so many reasons and more, and if you are looking for a way
to contribute to the bettering of the environment and the
economy, consider making biodiesel with ethanol and allowing it
to power you and your lifestyle.
